Dear friends
This Sunday is Father’s Day, so on this special day we pray for every grace and blessing on them and their families. We also remember those men who have been or still are father figures. This is important too because a man doesn’t have to be a biological father in order to be a fatherly figure in one’s life. One of the best examples of this is our God Father, who was at the font for our baptism and despite the fact he isn’t our biological father radiates something of God’s fatherly love and care for us. In chatting with my Mother on Monday she reminded me that, “this Sunday is Father’s Day”. My reply was, “yes I know Mum, it will be my first”. So, despite the fact that I’m not a biological father I’m going to enjoy eating cake today too! And, so should those blokes who are uncles, brothers, etc. When we think about it whenever someone reflects something of the God’s love and care for us we see the face of God in them because God is love. So, today I invite everyone to say an ‘Our Father’ for your Dad, Grandad, God Father, a priest or another fatherly figure in your life. God bless Fr Thomas
